First harvest from my veggie patch!

Hooray! I have just pulled the first veggies from my little veg garden. (Drum roll please!)

Behold, my first crop of radishes. They look delicious, don't they? Though, there is one which looks a bit odd and I have yet to decide whether or not to eat it. It didn't form a normal radish 'bulb' shape, so I'm not too sure what happened.

I must say, the next time I sow radishes, I am going to have to give them lots of space. Their leaves are so monstrous my poor little beetroot were completely overwhelmed. From the size of the leaves, I expected gigantic roots, but they're so small in comparison.

I am amazed at the amount of growth out there at the moment. These two photos are of my mange tout, the one on the left is from 16 days ago and the other is today...isn't the difference immense?

My current challenge with them is to get them clambering up some bamboo canes I have erected alongside them, rather than tangling each other up completely and hiding their bounty from me. I've put the bamboo canes in a line to one side, rather than in the traditional teepee style. My logic here is that I will easily be able to harvest them when the time is right. If I went for the teepee option, some peas would be inside the teepee and impossible to get at, except maybe for my greedy avian friends.

Any suggestions for recipes for radishes? So far, I've munched one straight off the stalk a
